What can you do with it?
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Personal alias | Another address that delivers to a person's mailbox. |
| Temporary alias | An address that expires after the number of days you set. Created from webmail. |
| Domain alias | A domain address that forwards to one or more destinations. |
When should you use it?
- Receive
sales@orsupport@in someone's mailbox without creating another paid mailbox. - Hand out a throwaway address for a one-off sign-up.
- Share a domain address among several people.
How does it work in ArduMaker?
Aliases live on the mail server. A domain alias must end in @ plus the domain name; otherwise it is rejected. Before deleting an alias, ArduMaker checks that it belongs to that mailbox or domain: if it cannot check because the server does not answer, it does not delete.
What actually changes?
The alias is created or deleted on the mail server. Billing does not change: an alias is not a mailbox.
Expected result
Mail sent to the alias shows up in the destination mailbox like any other message.
Errors and troubleshooting
- `alias_address_is_required`: the alias address is missing.
- `validity_days_is_required`: a temporary alias needs its validity in days.
- `alias_not_found`: the alias does not belong to that mailbox or domain.
- `dependencia_caida`: the mail server did not answer while checking the alias. Safe to retry.
MCP access
Requires access to the domain's company. See /mcp/correo.
