# Trash

What is deleted in a project or company can be restored for 30 days before it is removed for good.

Source: https://ardumaker.com/en/docs/papelera/

- Category: Community and extra services
- Status: Available
- Requirements: Admin access to the project, or being the one who deleted
- MCP tools (Read only): `listar_papelera`, `ver_papelera`, `listar_proyectos_eliminados`
- MCP tools (Write or modify): `restaurar_papelera`

## What can you do with it?

- See what was deleted in a project, who did it and when: one entry per deletion, with everything it took.
- Restore stages, tasks, checklist items, comments, folders and attachments, or the whole project.
- Permanently delete something early, with an optional reason.
- Restore a deleted company.

## When should you use it?

After a mistaken deletion, by you or by an agent, or when personal data must be removed immediately.

## How does it work in ArduMaker?

### Projects

- Deleted items stay for 30 days. Afterwards, a scheduled purge removes them for good and frees their files.
- A large deletion, of 25 objects or more, is announced a week before removal.
- Project admins see and restore; whoever deleted something can always restore it.
- Something whose container is still deleted cannot be restored: restore the parent first or, for a task, choose another stage.
- Restoring brings back only what that deletion took; anything deleted earlier stays deleted.

### Companies

- Its admins can restore it for 30 days.
- A company removed for arrears is not restored here: it is reactivated by paying the debt.
- If it was removed for lack of verification, only an ArduMaker administrator can restore it, and verification is requested again.

## What actually changes?

Deleting marks objects without removing them. Restoring shows them again and reschedules the calendar if needed. Purging, scheduled or manual, removes them and leaves a record that survives even purging a whole project.

> **PELIGRO:** Restoring a company brings back the company, its balance and history, but not its VPS: those were removed when it was deleted.

## Diagram

**Lifecycle of a project deletion**

```text
Deletion (one entry with everything it took)
  ↓
Trash (30 days)
  ↓
Restore? (everything comes back together)
  ↓
Purge (permanent and logged)
```

## Expected result

Restored items come back with their tasks, items and comments. A whole deleted project is found in the deleted projects list, not in another project's trash.

## Errors and troubleshooting

- **The parent is still deleted**: restore the containing entry first or, for a task, give a live stage.
- **The entry was already restored**: it cannot be purged or restored again.
- **Company not found when restoring**: it is not deleted, the period expired or the person cannot restore it. All three answer the same on purpose.

## MCP access

An agent can list, view and restore a project's trash with the same permission as a person. Restoring is idempotent and safe to retry. See [/mcp/proyectos](https://ardumaker.com/en/mcp/proyectos).

| Type | Tools |
| --- | --- |
| Read | `listar_papelera`, `ver_papelera`, `listar_proyectos_eliminados` |
| Modifies | `restaurar_papelera` |

> **INFO:** An MCP agent can never permanently delete anything: manual purge is only for human project admins.
