# Member management

Add people to the company, give them admin or member role and remove them, with rules that protect the account.

## What can you do with it?

| Role | What it can do |
| --- | --- |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus manage people, payments, tax details and company rules. |
| Member | Use the company's resources and see its balance and usage. |

## When should you use it?

When building the company team, delegating administration or when someone stops working there.

## How does it work in ArduMaker?

- An admin adds a person by username, as member or directly as admin.
- An admin switches the role between `admin` and `member`.
- An admin removes another person; anyone can leave on their own without asking.
- There is always at least one admin: the last one cannot be demoted or removed.
- When the company's debt exceeds the authorised margin, people cannot be removed: pay first.

## What actually changes?

It changes who belongs to the company and with which role. An admin always also counts as a member. Whoever leaves loses access to the company's resources.

## Expected result

The company list shows admins and members without repeating anyone. Billing notices go to admins and to members an admin adds to that category in [notifications](https://ardumaker.com/en/docs/notificaciones).

## Errors and troubleshooting

- **`user_not_found`**: no account with that username.
- **`at_least_one_admin_is_required`**: an attempt was made to leave the company without admins.
- **`cannot_remove_members_while_company_has`**: the company has pending debt.
- **403 `only_admins_can_...`**: the action is admins only.
